Poetry & Short Story Reference Center
Hundreds of thousands of poems, as well as short stories, biographies, and essays. Topics include the poetic forms, movements, and techniques.

Literary Reference Center
Full-text resources focusing on plays/drama, poetry, religious literature and children’s literature. This database also includes volumes of fantasy/science fiction, contemporary literature, world philosophy and religious literature, and literary study guides covering American Literature, English Literature and literary genres.

Academic Search Complete
Multidisciplinary comprehensive Database

Humanities International Complete
Provides full text of hundreds of journals, books and other published sources from around the world. HIC includes all the data from American Humanities Index and Humanities International Index plus almost half a million full-text articles, many available with searchable references.

  1. Open  E-Journals Search
  2. Search for the Journal’s Title.
  3. Click on the Journal title in the search results.
  4. Search inside the journal for keywords on the journal page.

Research Tips

  • criticism formats: Books, essays, journal articles,
  • Well know works, authors, and some characters will have their own subject terms. Look for links in item records.
  • In literature databases use the advanced search to search for title and author, and limit to literary criticism under “content type”
  • In Primo, use the advanced Search and include the author and title of the work plus the word criticism

The subscription ebook collections contain criticism on specific authors and works.
